WLMV-La Movida Radio–1480 AM has been the Madison area’s first and only Spanish radio format for the past nine years. La Movida 1480AM features today’s Top hits as well as yesterday’s favorite classic hits from the 70’s - 80’s and 90’s. You’ll hear many artists such as Shakira, Mana, Ana Barbara, Los Tigres del Norte, Paulina Rubio, Joan Sebastian, Alejandro Fernandez, Juan Gabriel, Luis Miguel, Daddy Yankee, Celia Cruz, Vicente Fernandez, Pepe Aguilar, Julieta Venegas and Intocable.
Not only does the station play all the latest hits, it also airs special music shows like Wicho y la Bola, Monday thru Friday from 6am to 9am, hosted by Luis Montoto; El Debate, M-F, 9am to10am, a one hour Spanish talk show allowing the Latino community to express their opinions and concerns; A Todo Ritmo, Monday thru Friday, from 1pm to 3 pm, hosted by Lupita Montoto, and La Tarde Arde, from 3pm until 6pm, hosted by Diego Campoverde. La Movida 1480AM also broadcasts the prestigious news segment Minuto 60, courtesy of Grupo Latino de Radio.
Our goal at La Movida 1480AM is not only to entertain and inform but also to be involved with our listeners. Our staff has worked with dozens of important local organizations, including Centro Hispano, Centro Guadalupe, United Way, Aids Network, Latino Chamber of Commerce, Latino Health Council, , Madison College, UW-Madison.
